I reserved my spot for the FSA conference and I am so so so excited to go. When I realized that it was located so close I felt a real need to go. I am so happy that I was able to make this happen. I wish that Joe could come with me but my schedule is much easier to finagle (nice word huh?) I am going to print out some business cards with my contact info and hope to make some more amazing adoption contacts. I will attend a variety of classes on a plethora of different adoption topics and take copious amounts of notes to share with Joe and you blog readers of course.

Did I tell you I am excited?!

Thanks to all who offered me a place to stay. I am overwhelmed and grateful. I hope that Joe and I can plan a fun trip so we can see you all, I forgot how many people we know in Oregon. Lunch sometime somewhere in or near Portland anyone? (probably after the new year, we have holidays coming up so soon! Can you believe it?)

Adoption Business (pass along) card

This is the card I have designed so far... the other side will have a dazzling picture of us. I don't have the exact link to our adoption profile yet... and I want to have something on there that says something cute about us wanting to adopt... Any thoughts??!?

Advice?!

I was thinking that while I have a little more time on my hands I should make something to help us network for adoption. Since one way that adoption can come to us is through someone who knows someone and so on... I have two ideas, 1. a letter with pictures of us links to our adoption blog and our adoption profile, as well as the phone # for LDS Family services. 2. a business card with the same contact info on one side and a pretty picture of us on the other. or 3. do both!

Another Blog

We thought that we need to start another blog, for prospective birth moms to see and get to know us, without all the infertility stuff. I guess that means that we need to get better at staying up to date with two blogs now! http://joeshayadoption.blogspot.com

Not going private after all

We have decided to stay an open blog. We've talked to people who are afraid of weirdos that are looking for personal info,it scared us for a little bit then we looked ourselves up online and the only free info given was our websites, but our websites do not divulge any more information than we chose to display ourselves. If you pay money you can probably get our phone #s and address online as well but that info is pretty much public domain if you are in the phone book. So we feel safe letting our blog stay an open blog. We also want to keep our blog open so that potential birth moms can look at it, and if it is private it doesn't give them the change to look at it freely.

So no worries you all can still read our blog, but we will be careful with what kind of info we are choosing to display.
