We're Spoiled!

On January 27th I recieved a phone call from Joseph during work.

He usually doesn't interrupt unless he needs something.

Turns out that our Bishop had tickets to Brian Regan,
 and wanted us to go with him, that night!

Fortunately,  my last student had cancelled on me and I was able to go.

Bishop met us at the house,
 and we ended up just hopping in the car with him,

 two of his sons and a daughter-in-law.
What a show! He is hilarious!

 If we weren't laughing at the jokes we were well entertained by the people around us,

 the man next to me was a larger man but he laughs like a girl.

 There were a couple girls behind us laughing so hard they were wheezing

 (in a funny way not an asthmatic way). 

Anyway the show was great,
Brian Regan is a funny man, and he keeps it clean, 

which I really appreciate.

Here are a couple of pictures I was able to take that weren't blurry, he moves around A LOT!

We had such a great night, and laughed so hard 

(got quite an ab workout). 

We were feeling incredibly lucky.

And all thanks to our awesome Bishop.

We love that guy.

Getting Married December 18th,

Make that September 18th,

 Idaho Falls Temple.

(I negotiated for 1 picture only, I think they were a little shy about it.)

Didn't your mother ever teach you?

Not to judge?

Mine did.

We are in our mid-twenties. 

We use handicap parking...legally.

Not many people can say that, not that we are proud of it.

But it's the truth.

We had an interesting experience a while back.

We are always being judged when we park. 

We know it doesn't look good for a young couple to park in the handicap spots.

We had just finished parking next to an elderly gentleman in his big red pickup,

pulled out of his parking spot and blocked us in, 

rolled down his window, 

and showed us a look that told us he was going to yell at us.

Then Joseph and his white cane exited the car,

and his face changed,

that man's face changed from anger, to shock. 

He drove away.

I thought it was funny, he judged us too quickly. 

He was wrong.

We went in the store did our shopping and came back out to our car. 

Next to our car was another man helping his mother into one of those electric shopping carts,

we were blocked in, we loaded our car.

He watched. 

He had a look of kindness towards us.

Without saying a word, he came up to me took and returned my shopping cart for me.

That man judged us too. But he was kind.

Not everyone is willing to pull us aside and tell us exactly what they think of us. (We've had a lot of those experiences too) But all of these types of experiences have made us more aware of  the fact that we are always being watched, by those that know us and love us, and by total strangers. It puts the pressure on to be good examples, not that we think of it too often, but it does cross our minds. 

All this goes back to the golden rule: 

Do unto others as you would have others do unto you.

Boo! ** update**

His mission call didn't come today!

**Update: His call left the office of the President, on the 14th!!**

We found this out because it was ward conference. And the bishop and stake president were apparently making faces at my brother, who then texted both of them. "no call yet" During the meeting!! The Stake President responded 1st with "I'll check" The Bishop responded later " Can't wait!" We got a call later that afternoon, letting us know the whereabouts of his call.

I still have absolutely no guess.

Which is funny.

And frustating to my brother,

so we've agreed that I will be trying to pull a Johnny Carson:

put his call up next to my head and make my guess then.

Where in the World?...

Will this little Brother of mine go on a mission?

The Red Envelope Project

Why red?

The envelopes represent the innocent blood shed through abortion. This campaign is a symbolic act to flood the mail with red. The more we send, the more powerful this symbol will be.

Why March 31?

Although that date was chosen arbitrarily by Brian Potter when he created Red Envelope Day, it also reinforces the symbolism of blood. The envelopes will be arriving near the beginning of Holy Week, just prior to the start of Passover. I don’t think it is a coincidence that these arrive so near the annual remembrance of the Passion and Death of Christ.

Where do I send them, and will empty envelopes be delivered?

The White House, 1600 Pennsylvania Ave NW, Washington D.C. 20500.

As long as you have proper postage, federal law requires the delivery of all mail. Messages on the outside of an envelope will not hinder their delivery. Although empty envelopes may not be opened, they will be delivered.

What organization is behind the Red Envelope Project?

This movement is a true grass roots phenomenon. There is no entity behind this project other than the thousands of men, women and children that have volunteered their time, money, and effort to be involved. The Red Envelope Project has spread largely through emails and word of mouth.

Brad Miller created Red Envelope Project, and his effort was the first to count the envelopes sent. Red Envelope Day was started by Brian Potter.

Do you really think that this will make a difference?

Yes. But not because it is an effective form of protest. I am astounded at the response so far. The fact that it has brought so many people together, encouraged them, and also changed a few hearts along the way is exciting.

Do I think it will change the President? I don’t know. (Although, from my math, the White House should be receiving at least 20,000 red letters daily).

Ultimately though, this is about the war of ideas. These red envelopes in the mail are igniting a lot of folks to think about the value of life. If a new generation can begin to care about life, we are going to win the war of ideas. I think the red letters have done this.

Doesn’t Responsibility begin BEFORE conception?

Absolutely. Lots of folks seem to be bothered by that last line. I think a lot of people are over thinking it all. This line is a reference to the President’s inaugural address, in which he called Americans to begin creating a culture of responsibility. Part of this culture was not taking innocent life, according to the new President. As you may know, the next day his actions spoke otherwise. Sadly, either a lot of people weren’t listening, or didn’t understand.

***I took this from the red envelope project's website. Yes, I participated, I have a red envelope out there on it's way to the president. I think that this was an interesting way to peacefully protest abortion. I am pro-life, the only time I would agree that abortion is an option would be rape and if the lives of both mother and child are at risk. Other than that it is senseless murder. There are other options, best of all is abstinence, sex comes with consequences! Another is adoption which of course I am so pro-adoption!****
